OUR AIM
Our Violence Intervention Programme supports children and young people aged 6 to 25 who are at risk of exploitation, violence, grooming or gang involvement. We focus on early intervention through education, awareness and honest conversations, helping young people understand risk and make safer choices.
We offer a positive alternative to school exclusion and police involvement, working closely with each young person to understand their needs and connect them to the right support.
We also work alongside families, providing guidance and support during difficult times and addressing the root causes behind behaviour, including trauma, poverty, domestic violence and wider challenges. Our work extends into prison settings, where we deliver emotional wellbeing support and help reduce violence by building trust and creating opportunities for change. For those leaving custody, we provide through-the-gate support to help them rebuild, reconnect and move towards a more stable and positive future.
Using a multi-agency approach, we work alongside statutory partners as well as individuals with lived experience, including ex-gang members and victims of knife crime, to deliver relatable and impactful support. Through group work, real-life stories, role play, counselling and one-to-one mentoring, alongside advocacy, legal support and through-the-gate provision, we support young people and their families during some of their most difficult times, helping rebuild confidence, repair relationships and create more positive and stable futures.
SERVICE OBJECTIVES
To provide early intervention, education and awareness for young people aged 6 to 18 identified as at risk of exploitation, violence, grooming and gang involvement
To offer a constructive alternative to school exclusion and police prosecution
To assess individual need and refer into appropriate specialist services where required, including education and employment support
To provide information, guidance and support to parents and carers to strengthen family stability
To address root causes including trauma, domestic violence, poverty and systemic barriers
To reduce violence within prison settings by delivering emotional wellbeing support and creating opportunities for positive change
To support young people through the gate, providing guidance and practical support as they transition out of custody and rebuild their lives
